i. MAHILA AROGYA SHUSHRUSHA YOJANA (MASHU)
A project which is being run in collaboration
with; Canara Bank Relief and Welfare Society, aims to provide primary
health/medical services to women and children from villages in and around
Harohalli. The centre is functioning at the campus of our Harohalli Institute.
A qualified lady doctor along with an attendant take care of the primary health
and medical services which are provided free of cost. The centre also conducts
free health camps periodically.
The centre functions on all working days for a
minimum of 4 hours per day.
Canara Bank Centenary Rural Development Trust is
extending financial assistance of Rs. 1.00 lakhs every year for the activities
of MASHU. During the year 2006-07, about 7200 women and children were provided
basic health services at the Centre. Since inception, about 85000 women and
children have benefited from this project.
MASHU is an unique experiment in improving the
health of women and children from rural areas.
