SUPPORT INITIATIVES

i. MAHILA AROGYA SHUSHRUSHA YOJANA (MASHU)

A project which is being run in collaboration with; Canara Bank Relief and Welfare Society, aims to provide primary health/medical services to women and children from villages in and around Harohalli. The centre is functioning at the campus of our Harohalli Institute. A qualified lady doctor along with an attendant take care of the primary health and medical services which are provided free of cost. The centre also conducts free health camps periodically.

The centre functions on all working days for a minimum of 4 hours per day.

Canara Bank Centenary Rural Development Trust is extending financial assistance of Rs. 1.00 lakhs every year for the activities of MASHU. During the year 2006-07, about 7200 women and children were provided basic health services at the Centre. Since inception, about 85000 women and children have benefited from this project.

MASHU is an unique experiment in improving the health of women and children from rural areas.
