Goods and Service Taxes (GST) payments through Canara Bank Internet Banking

Canara bank provides the facility to pay Goods and Service Taxes(GST) through internet banking. A customer who is registered with the Bank’s Corporate/Retail Internet Banking having a valid GSTIN allotted by GSTN can do GST payment through Internet Banking.

Procedure for payment:

  • Fill-up the challan in the GSTN site by accessing the above link. Upon filling up the challan , taxpayer will be presented with different payment options including Net banking option.
  • Upon selecting the option as Net banking and Bank as Canara Bank, taxpayer will be redirected to bank’s GST e-payment module.
  • Enter the text as displayed in the screen and click on “Proceed”. It will display the details as received from GSTN. Click on “Proceed for Login”
  • It will redirect the user to internet banking portal for making the payment . The user will be prompted to login with his/her internet banking user id and password.
  • Confirm the payment by entering the transaction password.
  • Upon confirmation , transaction will happen . Upon successful completion of transaction taxpayer account will get debited and taxpayer will be redirected back to GSTN portal.
  • The taxpayer can download the receipt from the GSTN portal.
  • As per the guidelines the GST internet banking transactions completed upto 8.00 pm will be accounted for the current day. The transaction completed after 8.00 pm for the day will be accounted for the next day.

E- payment of Direct Taxes (income Tax/Wealth Tax/Coporation Tax/Gift Tax etc.)On-line

Canara bank is integrated with new Income tax e-filing portal (TIN2.0) with all the payment modes enabled including Internet Banking, Debit Cards of Canara Bank and Payment Gateway(Credit cards, Debit Cards, Net banking, UPI of any Bank) for online challan payments and Over the counter (Cash, Cheque, DD of any Bank) for offline challan payments, thus making Direct Tax payments seamless, faster and efficient for its valuable customers.

Pay Direct Taxes

To pay Direct Taxes via Canara Bank Net Banking:

  • To pay direct taxes click on the following link - Pay Direct Taxes
  • Login to the e-filing portal using your PAN/TAN and Password.
  • Go to e-File > E-Pay Tax option in the income tax site and select Assessment year and type of payment.
  • Fill in the challan details and create a challan.
  • On the Payment page, Choose Canara Bank and pay via Net Banking
  • You will be redirected to the Online Canara Bank TIN2.0 page.
  • Verify the challan details, enter Captcha and click on Pay Now (or click on Pay later for scheduling the payment on a later date)
  • Enter your Internet Banking user ID and password and complete the payment process after selecting the debit account and entering the transaction password.
  • You will be redirected to Income tax site and the Payment status will be displayed along with Download Challan option
  • Download/Save the online challan instantly.

To pay Direct Taxes via Canara Bank Debit Card:

  • To pay direct taxes click on the following link - Pay Direct Taxes
  • Login to the e-filing portal using your PAN/TAN and Password.
  • Goto e-File>E-Pay Tax option in the income tax site and select Assessment year and type of payment.
  • Fill in the challan details and create a challan.
  • On the Payment page, Choose Canara Bank and pay via Debit Card
  • You will be redirected to the Online Canara Bank TIN2.0 page.
  • Verify the challan details, enter Captcha and click on Pay Now.
  • Enter your Debit card no. of Canara Bank, CVV and other details and complete the payment process after clicking the Pay button.
  • You will be redirected to Income tax site and the Payment status will be displayed along with Download Challan option
  • Download/Save the online challan instantly.

To pay Direct Taxes via Canara Bank Payment Gateway:

  • Login to the e-filing portal using your PAN/TAN and Password.
  • Goto e-File>E-Pay Tax option in the income tax site and select Assessment year and type of payment.
  • Fill in the challan details and create a challan.
  • On the Payment page, Choose Canara Bank Payment Gateway
  • You will be redirected to the Online Canara Bank Payment Gateway page.
  • . then choose the payment mode(internet banking, debit card, credit card, UPI) and enter relevant details and confirm.
  • You will be redirected to Income tax site and the Payment status will be displayed along with Download Challan option
  • Download/Save the online challan instantly.

E-payment of indirect Taxes(Excise & Service Taxes) On-line

Canara Bank provides the facility to pay Indirect taxes online. As a tax payer, you need to have a bank account, enabled for net banking facility with epayment in anyone of our Core Banking branches. Please find below the procedure for making the payment.

To pay Excise and Service Tax

  • To pay Excise and service tax click on the following link - Pay Excise & Service Tax
    • Enter your 15 digit Assessee Code allotted by CBEC.
    • Select appropriate Accounting code/s.
    • Select Canara Bank as your Bank for payment.
    • You are displayed the Internet Banking login page of Canara Bank.
    • Enter your username and password to login and click on Retails Banking (for Retails customers) and Corporate Banking (for Corporate customers).
    • Internet Banking displays your details received from CBEC site.
    • Select the account from which you wish to pay tax.
    • Enter the amount of tax for all the chosen minor heads.
    • Enter the remarks for the transaction and confirm the transaction.
    • You are displayed transaction password page. Enter your transaction password and confirm the same.
    • Transaction is processed and cyber receipt is displayed, if your transaction is successful.
    • Click on ‘PRINT’ to get copy of cyber receipt.

E-payment of customs Duty

  • To pay Customs through the internet
  • Canara Bank provides the facility to pay Customs duty online for all Customs locations. As a tax payer, you need to have a bank account, enabled for net banking facility with epayment in anyone of our Core Banking branches. Please find below the procedure for making the payment.

  • Please click the following link - Pay Customs
    • Select e-payment under services.
    • Provide your Import-Export code or your login credentials given by ICEGATE.
    • Select e-payment.
    • You are displayed the list of your unpaid challans.
    • Click on Pay against the challan you want to pay.
    • Select Canara Bank for payment.
    • You will be redirected to the Canara Bank Internet Banking login page.
    • Enter your Internet Banking user ID and password, Transaction password. If your credentials are valid, you can proceed to select the account from which you wish to pay tax.
    • You are provided a link to print the e-receipt for this payment on successful processing of your transaction.
    • You are redirected to ICEGATE site. If payment was successfully made for the challan, it will not appear in the list of pending challans in the ICEGATE site.
    • Click on 'print' to get copy of cyber receipt.

E-payment for Cyber Treasury-Andhra Pradesh

Canara bank provides the facility to pay Andhra Pradesh – Cyber Treasury payments through internet. A Customer (both Retail and Corporate) who is having Internet Banking facility in Canara Bank can pay Cyber Treasury payments through Net Banking at their convenience from anywhere any time.

  • To pay Andhra Pradesh Cyber Treasury payments click on the following link – E-payment –Andhra Pradesh – Cyber Treasury
  • After entering the details in the Cyber Treasury site, select Canara Bank from the Bank name list and submit.
  • After receiving the parameters, Bank’s e-payment system redirects the taxpayer to the screen for confirmation of parameters and there the user may select the Customer type (retail or corporate)
  • On selection of the option Retail/Corporate you will be re-directed to the Bank’s Internet Banking application. After the successful validation of the login id and password, you will be directed to next screen where the payment details will be displayed. In the next screen you will able to select the A/c number from which the payment is to be made.
  • After giving confirmation, transaction password will be asked in the next screen.
  • After the successful authentication of the transaction password, you will be redirected to the next screen wherein status of the transaction (success/failure) will be displayed. For the successful transaction you can generate the cyber receipt.
  • After taking the print out of the cyber receipt you may return the transaction details to the Cyber Treasury site by clicking the link displayed in the screen
  • A verify e-payment option is also provided in the Commercial Taxes website to verify the payment details in case, the transaction details are not returned back to the department site after making the payment in bank’s website.

    Canara bank provides the facility to pay E-payment of Fees and Taxes for Transport Department -TamilNadu through internet. A Customer (both Retail and Corporate) who is having Internet Banking facility in Canara Bank can pay the Fees and Taxes for Transport Department -Tamil Nadu through Net Banking at their convenience from anywhere any time.

    • Click on the hyperlink "Online Taxes" either in the corporate website www.canarabank.com or in the Internet Banking site www.canarabank.in
    • Click on the link – E-payment of Fees and Taxes for Transport Department -Tamil Nadu to proceed for the payment of fees and taxes of Transport department of TamilNadu.

    • A verify e-payment option is also provided in the Transport Department website to verify the payment details in case, the transaction details are not returned back to the department site after making the payment in bank’s website.
    • Tax payer can also generate and take printout of the e- receipt,e-challan1 and e-challan2 at a later date by using the option "Regenerate Cyber Receipt" provided in the Bank’s site. For regeneration click on the link “Regenerate Cyber receipt/e-Challans” after step No 1 as above.
    • In case your account has been debited twice then Customer has to inform the Bank
